Toyota Yaris 2012 Preview

We still lack a little opening of the Frankfurt Motor Show (scheduled for mid-September), but the new Toyota Yaris has already discovered in its final form. To tell the truth must be said that does not change that much compared to the hybrid prototype shown at the Geneva Motor Show.

Bigger and even hybrid. Compared to the current series, the new Toyota Yaris is distinguished by its design a bit ‘more “aggressive” species in the front characterized by a narrow V-shaped grille and many corners. More than 8.5 cm long with a wheelbase increased by 5, the compact Toyota will also be available in a brand new hybrid version powered by a 1.5 liter petrol engine over 80 hp electric motor paired with a powered by lithium-ion lithium.

The other versions. And it is the first time that Toyota decided to use a car on this type of large volumes of batteries instead of more traditional ones to the nickel-metallidruri. Other versions of the Yaris, however, will mount a milletre upgraded from 99 HP petrol and 1.4 turbodiesel tested. In Italy will debut later this year, while for the hybrid variant of it was not until early 2012.

An appearance in disguise as a hybrid concept in Geneva on the catwalk and the “escape” the network of a brochure of his Asian counterpart, the Vitz, melt a little ‘surprise effect now that the web comes the first official pictures of Toyota Yaris 2012. Although no longer a bombshell, the pictures are worth a look anyway, because the little genius, with its third generation, will continue to play a leading role in the segment B.

The Toyota Yaris 2012 puts on a few inches, just under a dozen, with the pitch instead of 5 and extends the height decreases by 2. These new dimensions help give the car a sportier look, even complicit with V-neck front and back headlights that stretch. Another element that the Japanese girl gives a remarkable stage presence is the cutting edges of the bumper fascias, they do seem wider than it is. The interior itself is brand new with an unusual asymmetric dashboard where the center console is the host of the scene, with the possibility of hosting a large multifunction display.

WILL ‘or a hybrid

As for the mechanics, coupled with a hybrid view in Geneva 1.5 engine gasoline and an electric motor with lithium-ion battery (a novelty in this segment) will really only in 2012. In the first phase, the engine range of the Toyota Yaris 2012 should be similar in broad terms the current one, with 1,000, three-cylinder 69 hp and a 1,300 by a hundred horses, flanked by a 1.4 Turbo Diesel.

This is an interesting article. In line with the theme of reducing our carbon footprint, the NS4 is a Plug-In Hybrid concept vehicle which is an even ‘greener’ environment friendly vehicle. It’s debuting at next week’s NAIAS auto show( during Toyota’s news conference on Tuesday, January 10 at 8:45 AM). Check out the concept video below.
