Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCT

BEST SELLER The figures speak for themselves: the Alfa Romeo Giulietta is a car of success. Since the beginning of the year the compact Alfa Romeo has taken root in the top ten of the Italian market and, if we consider only the registrations of diesel cars, is actually one of the positions on top of the charts, on the lowest rung of the podium. The vertices of the Fiat Group are convinced that Juliet can do even better and are therefore working to expand and better articulate its price.

ONLY THE BEST Right now enters the list so the Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCT, which stands for Twin Clutch Technology. This transmission with double clutch robotized has already debuted on Myth and manages to combine the advantages of an automatic than a manual. Inherits from the first electronically controlled shifting and smooth running, while the second maintains the sportiness, economy and the ability for the driver to select gears at its discretion, through the lever in the center of the passenger or, possibly, with paddles behind the wheel.

DOUBLE FACE TCT The dual-clutch gearbox can be combined with two engines, the 1,400 TB MultiAir 170 hp and the 2.0 JTDM turbodiesel equal power-2 and both enhances their already excellent performance. The Alfa Romeo Giulietta Turbo TCT can indeed touch 218 km / h after the practice liquidated 0-100 in 7.7 seconds and declared with an average distance of 19.2 km / liter (5.2 l/100km) . The Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCT winning short out across the board compared to her sister with manual transmission, as demonstrated well the comparison between the two diesel versions. With the dual-clutch gearbox on lap down in the 0-100 from 8 to 7.9 seconds while fuel consumption in terms of changing from 4.7 to 4.5 l/100 km with CO2 emissions that fall in their turn 124 to 119 g / km.

Not being mechanically minded, I couldn’t even start to comment on TCT. And to be honest, I’ve never been behind the wheel of the Alfa Giulietta or, indeed, any other Alfa but that doesn’t mean that I can’t look and drool. It is such a good looking car. I’m not overly keen on it in red but that’s just me, I’m not particularly keen on red cars fullstop.

I hope this heralds the start of a new lease of life for Alfa. I think it’s sensible for them to move slightly more into the family car area. I wouldn’t want to see them abandon their racing roots but I definitely wouldn’t want them to be held back by them either.
